Last night I was watching X Factor from the kitchen, listening more than watching. I missed the first few minutes. Anyway next thing I know I heard Khloe and Mario talking to Diamond White who was sent home last week. Then Khloe said, here’s your Top 13. I thought to myself, Khloe just f**ked up, it’s the Top 12. Later in the show we learned that the judges decided to bring Diamond White back because she was too good to go home. Wow, lucky girl! I think she’s too young to win it all.
From Britney’s teens, Arin Ray kicked off the show. Arin performed like a SUPERstar singing “American Boy” by Estelle. I LOVED it, the judges loved it. This boy in my opinion has the X Factor and earned my vote last night! Next up single mom Paige Thomas from Demi’s young adults. Her entrance was very over the top, theatrical yet beautiful. Paige performed “Take My Breath Away” by Berlin. I didn’t care for the song. Once again Demi is taking her singers to the 80’s. It must be Demi’s favorite era of music! Paige has an amazing voice, but it didn’t blow me away. Simon didn’t care for it either, and that’s when the bickering between Simon and Demi began!
Vino Alan from L.A.’s team really impressed me and the judges. This hard rocker put on a suit and belted out Michael Bolton’s “When A Man Loves A Women.” I don’t like that song by Michael Bolton, but I liked Vino’s version of it! Simon’s boys Emblem3 were next. I really like these California boys, they’re fun and will make for good radio. Simon had them perform this mash-up of One Directions “What Makes You Beautiful” The Temptations “My Girl” and Katy Perry’s “California Girls” The judges loved it, I didn’t get it but I still like the group!
Cutie teen Beatrice Miller was next and performed “Iris” from the Goo Goo Dolls. Love that song and little Beatrice! The judges all loved it too! I worry because she is so young, but her talent is undeniable! Next up, Jennel Garcia the rocker girl sang ” I Love Rock and Roll” by Joan Jett. Simon attacked it and Demi. “I don’t like what Demi has done to the way you look,” he said, though acknowledging that he does “really like” her. L.A. didn’t like it either, but Britney loved it saying, “Hot Hot Hot.” I thought it sucked! Once again Demi making her young adults perform songs from the 80’s.
Country big daddy Tate Stevens owned the stage singing Bon Jov’s ” Dead or Alive.” Blake Shelton should just call him and produce his record. He’s ready! Lyric 145 performed “Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious” by Julie Andrews and I hated it! So did L.A. adding “but you shouldn’t be bothered by that … because I think it was perfect.” Spears dubbed the performance “intriguing and interesting to watch,” while Lovato said that they “nailed it.” The song idea, Cowell revealed, was Lyric’s idea. It was just too busy for me. Only LMFAO can get away with that!
The girl they saved, Diamond White sang Whitney Houston’s “I Have Nothing.” The judges all loved it and were impressed by her. I however wished she would of sang something like Jordin Sparks No Air. You can’t sing Whitney…. nobody really can. We will see how America votes! CeCe Frey was horrible singing “Eye of the Tiger” Once again Demi and her damn 80’s songs!! Gwen Stefani I’m Just a Girl would of been so much better! Simon put Demi in her place saying that it was all wrong!
Carly Rose Sonenclare who has a powerful voice gave a solid performance of Bruno Mars “It Will Rain.” The judges all loved it! Mr. Entertainment Jason Brock performed R Kelly’s “I Believe I Can Fly.” Outside of L.A. all the judges agreed that it could of been better. Britney added she would perfer Jason to sing something more urban like Usher Scream.
Lastly the girl group Fifth Harmony (formerly known as LYLAs and 1432) sang Christina Perri’s “A Thousand Years.” The ladies were elegant and flawless. By the way viewers picked the name Fifth Harmony and L.A. commented that he didn’t like the name, I don’t like it either! What do you think of the name?
Who will stay and who will go home tonight? I’m gonna say CeCe or Jason. Tune in tonight at 8pm. One Direction will be performing tonight too!
