Nicki Minaj talked about her new reality special, “Nicki Minaj: My Truth”, which premieres Sunday. Cameras have been following her for the last two months from New York to Miami to Baton Rouge for an American Idol photo shoot and to Los Angeles.
She said: “I guess what will most surprise a lot of people who may not be die-hard fans who haven’t known me for a long time is the honesty. I’m not trying to have a façade. I’m showing exactly what goes on in my life. I think people will be surprised at seeing that.”
“I think it’s interesting because I look at the first episode and I was like wow, it looks so all over the place. I really don’t know how everything winds up working out but it does. It’s also inspirational for women who feel like they want to push more and get more done. You’ll feel like a fly on the wall.”
As for her now-famous feud with Mariah Carey during the filming of American Idol, she won’t talk about it. And when the name Mariah comes up, her rep cuts in and says: “Next question, please.”
