I think the sting of losing the World Series is fading away. Let’s move on to more positive news. Looks like the skipper is sticking around as the manager of the Tigers!
The Tigers announced this morning that Leyland has signed a one-year contract for next season. As a big Tigers fan, I think that’s the right choice!
“Detroit is a tremendous baseball town, and I couldn’t dream of a better place to manage,” Leyland said in a released statement. “The support of Mr. Ilitch and Dave is second to none and gives this club an opportunity to win every year. Tigers fans and the people of Michigan have supported us so well during my time here, I can’t even begin to express how much that means to me.”
The Tigers are also bringing back Leyland’s coaching staff. Click here to read all about it!
