Lovebirds Rescued In Caseville After A Dangerous Marriage Proposal
Two sheriff’s deputies in Caseville rescued a couple who got stranded on an island during a badly planned marriage proposal. Listen guys if you plan on popping the question just do what I did, make it simple. And here is why:
The couple set out by canoe in Wild Fowl Bay. The guy had been planning the proposal for months and he tucked a message in a bottle inside a lunch bag that he brought on the trip. Inside the bottle was a sheet of paper, soaked in tea and burned around the edges, with a poem written in French. Luckily his bride is a French teacher. She started reading and translating the poem before finding a proposal written in English on another piece of paper.
The woman accepted the proposal, but strong wind and waves kept them from returning to shore. They talked and took pictures and didn’t realize they were too far from land. They ended up on an island so the sheriff’s department sent two deputies by boat and they picked up the couple.
They don’t have a wedding date set, but they said the deputies will definitely be invited.
