The rapper just dropped the clip for his latest single, “I Luv Dem Strippers,” featuring Minaj, and the R-rated video brings the booze, singles and, obviously, strippers to Atlanta.
When 2 Chainz isn’t busy making it rain or fist-pumping along to the dancers’ pole routines, he raps about his love for strippers between verses about his foreign cars and bling.
Minaj leaves the revealing outfits to the strippers, keeping it classy in a trendy crop top and embellished leggings as she comes in with her feature, proclaiming, “That’s why I’m crowned queen/And I ain’t looking for the prom king.”
The video opens with the strippers preparing for their routines, applying makeup and getting dressed. The group enters the club, a jungle of poles, where they perform for Minaj and 2 Chainz who seem to enjoy their company.
The rappers are certainly no strangers to the strip club or to collaborating with each another. The clip seems almost a sequel to Minaj’s “Beez in the Trap,” where the duo hit also hit the strip club, albeit a more PG-13 version compared to 2 Chainz’s spot.
Director Benny Boom oversaw both clips.
With guest verses on big records belonging to Nicki Minaj and Justin Bieber, 2 Chainz recently explained how he will approach guest verses in the future.
“Now it’s about doing features that matter or can help catapult my campaign or doesn’t make sense any more,” he told CBS Local. “A feature that’s worth me doing would be something that’s outside my genre, something outside my comfort level, outside my box.”
“I Luv Dem Strippers” will appear on 2 Chainz’s debut set, Based on a T.R.U. Story, which is due in stores August 14. Along with Minaj, the album will feature collaborations with Scarface, John Legend, The-Dream, Drake and more.
