Snoop Dogg Banned From Norway
Snoop Dogg is once again in a fog of legal trouble. The rap legend was banned in Norway after being arrested for possession of eight grams of marijuana last month at Kristiansand Airport in Kjevik.
The Dogfather’s luggage was sniffed out by dogs as the multi-platinum hip-hop superstar was set to perform at a Norway music festival. The 40-year-old was allowed to play his concert set and even tweeted about his love for the sticky-icky during the show.
“Smoking crip n. cuzns,” he posted. “Hahahahagahhaha.”
Holger Hagesaeter, a legal representative for Snoop told said that the rapper born Calvin Broadus was fined $8,600 for being caught with the weed as well as carrying more than the legally allowed amount of money in his wallet.
Snoop’s lawyer said the rapper had no immediate plans to appeal the ban, adding that his client could “live with the decision.”
Snoop is no stranger to such legal scrapes. Four years ago, the D-O-Double-G was detained in Sweden on suspicion of using illegal narcotics. And until 2010, Snoop was refused a visa to tour the UK. But in typical Snoop Dogg fashion, the cannabis loving rapper is rolling on. He recently announced that he will be releasing a reggae album under the name Snoop Lion later this year.—Keith Murphy, CBS Local
