Following his huge wins at Sunday’s BET Awards, Chris Brown is set up to top the music sales charts with his latest studio release, Fortune.

The singer is projected to move 270,000 copies its first week, according to HITS Daily Double. The RCA backed album, which dropped Tuesday (June 3), follows Brown’s 2011’s platinum F.A.M.E., and boasts a diverse range of guest appearances that include Wiz KhalifaAsher Rothwill.i.am, and Nas.

The album is currently being powered by Brown’s high-energy dance pop hit “Turn Up The Music,” a song he performed during his high energy set at the BET Awards. According to Brown, who beat out Usher and Trey Songz for Best R&B Artist at the BET Awards, Fortune was a labor of love for his fans.

“I’d like to thank Team Breezy, everybody who worked on any one of my albums,” he said at the BET telecast. “I just want to thank all my fans. It’s dedicated to y’all. This one’s for y’all, man, I appreciate everything.”

Such praise for his followers is no mere bluster. After all, the controversial Brown has managed to resurrect his career following his 2009 assault of ex girlfriend and pop superstar Rihanna. And then there’s the latest fallout from his June 14 brawl with platinum YMCMB rhymer Drake at W.i.p nightclub in New York.

Brown further added fuel to the fire when he released a scathing verse attacking Drake on a remix to the Chief Keef street anthem “I Don’t Like.”

The actual sales results will be reported on Wednesday July 11. Check back here for results.  —Keith Murphy, CBS Local
