Taylor Swift "Speak Now World Tour" In New York City - November 22, 2011

Jessica Simpson warned America that she and fiance Eric Johnson had selected a name for her baby girl and that it wasn’t bizarre, but it was going to raise a few eyebrows. Her daughter’s name is Maxwell Drew Johnson. Normally you’d picture a little boy with a name like that, but in this case, a little girl will answer to Maxwell.

Many celebrities have names you’d typically associate with the opposite sex. Here’s a list of our Top 10 celebrity names that both guys and girls can answer to. Did we miss any?

Ashley

You may remember Jessica’s younger sister Ashlee for her early singing career with hit singles “Pieces of Me” and “L.O.V.E.” or from her reality show The Ashlee Simpson Show. Turns out Ashlee is not only a girl name. Another singer, Ashley Parker Angel formerly of boy band O-Town also shares the same name.

Drew

Drew is usually referred to as a boy’s name (remember Jessica’s ex-husband Nick Lachey from 98 Degrees? His brother Drew was also in the band.) But, actress Drew Barrymore shows this doesn’t always have to be the case.

Hayden

Hayden seems to be a popular name for actors. Actress Hayden Panitierre got her start at just four-years-old on soap opera One Life To Live. She is perhaps best known for her role as Claire in popular TV show Heroes and Remember the Titans. Meanwhile, George Lucas surprised the acting world when he cast the then-unknown Hayden Christenson as Anakin Skywalker in the two prequels to Star Wars.

Jamie

Jamie Lee Curtis is well known for her acting roles in the Halloween series, among others. Her name isn’t unique to her though as it can be confused for a man’s. In fact, up-and-comer Jamie Scott of Graffiti 6 shares the same name. He has penned songs for One Direction and is currently touring in support of his latest album Colours.

Jesse

There is no shortage of Jesse’s in the music industry. Remember musician/actor Jesse McCartney of “Leavin'” fame? U.K. songstress Jessie J shares the same first name, albeit with a different spelling.

Jordan

Boy band heartthrob Jordan Knight got his start in the music industry as a teen in New Kids On the Block. Jordin Sparks also rose to fame at 17-years-old through her American Idol win.

Marylin

Though it’s neither of their first names, both Marylin Manson and Marylin Monroe have made a name for themselves under the moniker Marylin. Bet you never thought you’d read both their names in the same sentence.

Nikki

More frequently than one would think, Nikki relates to both men and women. Nikki Sixx of Mötley Crüe frame shares the same name with current pop sensation Nicki Minaj.

Peyton

When sports lovers hear the name Peyton they think of football quarterback Peyton Manning. It turns out he’s not the only Peyton in the limelight. Actress Peyton List plays Roger Sterling’s estranged wife on Mad Men but before that landed guest roles on TV series including Law & Order, Sex and the City and Smallville.

Taylor

Mostly considered a boy’s name, it comes as no surprise that Taylor Swift‘s parents actually named her after one of their favorite artists: James Taylor. Much was written about Taylor in 2010 when it was rumored that she and costar Taylor Lautner were dating.

What are some unusual names you’ve heard that made you do a double take when you saw who they belonged to?
