Instagram is one of the hottest apps for smart phones right now. It is so hot, first it was only for the iPhone and now it’s even on Android phones. With hundreds of thousands of members on Instagram, Facebook knew it was a smart buy. So they decided to take out that fat wallet of theirs and cough up $1 Billion to make the historic purchase. But is everyone happy about it?
Most Instagram users are actually a bit worried about the merger. We’ve had a few Twitter and Facebook messages to us @BUCKandCOOP and at facebook.com/buckandcoop about how people are scared Facebook is going to change it up. But according to androinica.com, Mark Zuckerberg knows that Instagram needs to grow on its own, and only bought the company to help it grow, but not tell them how to do it.
“It’s important to be clear that Instagram is not going away,” Instagram CEO Kevin Systrom said about the announcement. “We’ll be working with Facebook to evolve Instagram and build the network. We’ll continue to add new features to the product and find new ways to create a better mobile photos experience.”
