Twitter Tried (And Failed) To Kill Off Another Celebrity

The Twitter world decided to start a trending topic rumor that Eddie Murphy died. This isn’t Murphy’s first appearance in the Twitter death hoax either. It was December of 2010 when he was first falsely reported dead. This time the rumor tweeting around was he died in a snowboarding accident in Zermatt, Switzerland.

You would think it’s time for people to be a little more skeptical and question these trending topics before spreading the word. All though, there is a bright side to these false Twitter deaths. They seem to bring faded famous faces back into the headlines! Now Murphy has joined the laundry list of celebs who have experienced the death hoax; Drake, The Rock, Justin Bieber, Bill Cosby, Snoop Dog, Kanye West, Owen Wilson, Britney Spears, Soulja Boy, and Paris Hilton. At this point, one of them should make it an official club, “Twitter Killed Me”.
