A Rumor Started On Twitter That Soulja Boy Died… And No One Really Cared.

Do you ever wonder how people would react to your death? Well if you are [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Soulja Boy[/lastfm], you might not want to know. Last night, Twitter didn’t only try to kill off Soulja Boy, the twitter world refused to mourn his “trending topic” of a death.

In a matter of hours, #RIPSouljaBoy became a trending topic twitter, and from there the speculation began that the 21-year-old rapper had passed. The reactions? Not what you would want to hear, especially when you are a so called rapper in the music industry.

“That awkward moment when ‘RIP Soulja Boy’ is trending & everyone is surprised he was still alive’ #RIPSoulja,” read one tweet.

One theme that seemed to be retweeted a lot was along the lines of:

“#RIPSouljaBoy He died from listening to his own music,”

Now don’t get me wrong, Soulja Boy came out with some hits, so of course he is going to have some fans. In his defense, after they found out it wasn’t real, one fan said:

“When y’all have a quarter of Soulja Boy’s money, get back to me. In the mean time, him & his fans will just laugh at #RIPSouljaBoy,” one person via tweet.

Another tweeter said on behalf of all of recent fake celebrity deaths:

“Dear Everyone on twitter: None of the Artists you think died actually did. Please stop trending RIP Adele, #RIPSouljaBoy, etc. You are idiots.”
