Don’t Get On Madonna’s Bad Side!
The “Queen of Pop” can’t seem to get along with anyone as of lately! [lastfm link_type="artist_info"]Madonna[/lastfm] is fueling drama with quite a few people so far in 2012 and it’s only January! On top of that did you catch her acceptance speech at the Golden Globes? Let’s just say she seems to be really into herself. What’s her deal?
Madonna’s ego is getting the best of her. On Sunday at the Golden Globes she slammed Ricky Gervais as he introduced her to present an award. Gervais welcomed Madonna to the stage as being “just like a virgin”. Madonna struck back to him saying,
“If I’m still just like a virgin, Ricky, then why don’t you come over here and do something about it? I haven’t kissed a girl in a few years — on TV.”
Later in the night she won an award for “Best Original Song” titled “Masterpiece,” which she co-wrote and sang for her film “W.E.” During her acceptance speech she made it very clear that it was all about her. I didn’t catch how many “I, me, and mine’s” she actually said, but she was over doing it. The fact that she even won the award rubbed some people the wrong way. Elton John’s husband, David Furnish, went off about her winning the award and her acceptance speech:
“Madonna winning Best Original Song truly shows how these awards have nothing to do with merit,” Furnish said on his Facebook page. “Her acceptance speech was embarrassing in its narcissism. And her criticism of Gaga shows how desperate she really is.”
On top of that she was recently slamming [lastfm link_type="artist_info"] Lady Gaga[/lastfm] in an interview with ABC. She talked about how Lady Gaga copies off of her:
“I thought, this is a wonderful way to redo my song,” Madonna tells “20/20.”
“I mean, I recognized the chord changes. I thought it was… interesting.”
She also goes on to call Gaga’s music “reductive”. Lady Gaga has always stated how big of an influence Madonna has been to her. She admits that Madonna has enabled her music and style. Gaga has yet to comment on what Madonna said about her.
