After hearing the news that bullied New York teen Jamey Rodemeyer had committed suicide, [lastfm link_type="artist_info"]Lady Gaga[/lastfm] communicated that more drastic actions should be taken against bullying.
[photogallerylink id=43982 align=right]Tweeting her outrage and call for action, Gaga posted, “I will not stop fighting… This must end. Our generation has the power to end it. Trend it #MakeALawForJamey.”
She also vowed to meet with President Barack Obama regarding the enactment of a law that would classify bullying as a hate crime, and punishable as such.
Jamey’s “It Gets Better” video, which he posted in May, is below. In it, he cites Lady Gaga as an inspiration for continuing on despite his struggles with bullying over his sexuality.
