UPDATE… RELEASED! T.I. Out Of Prison
It’s been confirmed that today T.I.
is being released has been RELEASED from the Forrest City Correctional Facility in Georgia where he served an 11-month sentence..but he won’t be going home just yet…
T.I will be leaving Prison and going to live at a halfway house. FYI… his original release date was Sept. 29.
He had been sentenced to 11 months in October for breaking his federal probation after he was arrested in Los Angeles on drug charges.
It was T.I.’s second stint in the Arkansas prison. He served about seven months there in 2009 after he was arrested in 2007 for trying to buy unregistered guns and silencers from undercover federal agents. That came after T.I’s best friend was killed following a post-performance party in Cincinnati in 2006. The rapper has said the bullets that killed his friend were meant for him.
When he was released from that sentence, he was required to perform 1,000 hours of community service, which he spent mostly talking with school children about the dangers of drugs, gangs and violence. He was also ordered not to commit another crime while on supervised release, or to illegally possess a controlled substance.
But a federal judge said that “experiment” failed when Los Angeles deputies found four ecstasy pills on the rapper.
While in prison, T.I has been keeping fans updated through his TrapMuzik.com website. His latest entry “Live your Life” revealed that he’ll return to his original sound and that he’s serious about his work.
“Next time you hear from me, I’ll be back out there with you,” he wrote. “Doing for those who can’t do for themselves and speaking for those whose voices are never heard. When I touch down, I’m going all the way back to square one, like I’m fresh in the game and never sold a record. Back on some I’M SERIOUS, TRAP MUZIK sh-. … But until then RESPECT to all who deserve it.”
While incarcerated, he sponsored a Memorial Day bus trip for the families of 14 inmates.
