Canadian electro and house producer Joel Thomas Zimmerman, better known as Deadmau5, closed the annual Lollapalooza festival in style on Sunday with a raucous ninety minute set.

Known for his extraordinary live show, Last.fm Trends looks at how his recorded music has been received by Last.fm listeners.

Deadmau5 was born in 2005 and in that time has been scrobbled 16,461,755 times. However a significant rise in scrobbles wasn’t seen until late-2009 with the release of his fourth album For Lack of a Better Name.

The album has been scrobbled 3,344,351 times and is Deadmau5’s most popular effort so far. The album opened him up to a whole world of new listeners and by the time his latest album, 4×4=12, came out in December 2010 he peaked at around 300,000 scrobbles a week.

Whilst 4×4=12 has a way to go to reach the success of its predecessor (it currently stands at 1,652,688 scrobbles), Deadmau5’s latest top weekly tracks chart has its #1 and #2 spots filled with tracks from it – “Some Chords” (4,128 weekly listeners) and “Sofi Needs A Ladder” (3,460 weekly listeners).
