This weekend it’s the Teen Choice Awards, and the Choice Music categories are as hotly contested as ever.

Today Last.fm Trends is looking at the Choice Music: Group nominees, and seeing who’s on top of the pop groups by way of scrobbles.

As shown by the graph above (click to enlarge), Black Eyed Peas easily outstrip their rivals in terms of listeners. However, with nearest rivals Glee Cast capturing teen zeitgeist, votes could swing their way.

Alternatively, hit tracks could sway the electorate: Selena Gomez & The Scene‘s “Love You Like A Love Song” is also nominated as Choice Music: Love Song but has only gained 17,963 listeners in comparison to the 204,024 for Far East Movement‘s “Like A G6.”

Meanwhile, The Script‘s biggest hits on Last.fm are from their debut album – but their listener numbers have risen over the past month. Tune in this Sunday to find out who makes it to the award.

Make sure that what you’re listening to counts, at Last.fm. Meanwhile, Last.fm Trends brings you the news in scrobbles every weekday.
