New York City police are reportedly investigating an online posting supposedly from a convicted felon who claims to have shot and robbed slain rapper Tupac Shakur

Police spokesman Paul Browne said Wednesday if police determine the post is legitimate they will seek to interview the prisoner, Dexter Isaac, currently serving life in prison for murder, robbery and more at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn.

Isaac says he shot Shakur in 1994 after allegedly being given $2,500 dollars by James “Jimmy Henchman” Rosemond.

“I want to apologize to his family [Tupac Shakur] and for the mistake I did for that sucker [Jimmy Henchman],” Dexter Isaac told AllHipHop.com. “I am trying to clean it up to give [Tupac and Biggie's] mothers some closure.”

Isaac explained to AllHipHop.com that he chose to admit to the robberies to clear his conscious, prove Henchman’s involvement and that Henchman has wrongly accused him of being a government informant.

“Now I would like to clear up a few things, because the statute of limitations is over, and no one can be charged, and I’m just plain tired of listening to your lies,” the writer says, adding that the mogul also allowed him to keep some of the jewelry he stole from Shakur.

“I still have as proof the chain we took in the robbery,” he writes.

The November 30, 1994 shooting jump-started a media-hyped dispute that resulted in the killings of both Tupac Shakur and Notorious B.I.G., who were heavily part of the East Coast/West Coast hip-hop music feud. Shakur died after sustaining gunshot wounds on September 7, 1996 and B.I.G was shot dead the following year on March 9, 1997.
