Does your phone depict whether you err on the side of geeky or pretty? Apparently some think so. The CEO of the Android handset-making INQ took improper generalization and sexism to a whole new level with a recent quote about girls not being able to use Androids because, in other words, it makes them geeky, not pretty. In fact, his direct quote was:
“If you go to a nightclub in any city in the world, the pretty girl has an iPhone or a BlackBerry. She doesn’t have an Android phone. She has no emotional attachment to an Android phone. It’s too complicated. It’s a geek device, it’s all wrong.”
Before you get mad and defensive, just know there is a little truth to his words. Android is, technically, a geekdom, offering the most accessible platform in the world. But to completely write it off for the nightclub-going ladies is completely truthful. Which kind of phone do you have? An iPhone, Android, or something else? Do you think your phone helps defy your personality?
