Ja Rule is due in a New York courtroom today to find out when he’ll begin serving his two-year prison sentence for a 2007 gun case.
The 34-year-old rapper/actor pleaded guilty in December to attempted criminal possession of a weapon. His plea deal calls for a two-year prison term. Today, he’ll learn when he must surrender to authorities.
The charges stem from a July 2007 incident after a concert in New York, when police found a loaded handgun in the rear door of his Maybach.
In January, Ja Rule said that his album “The Renaissance Project,” would be released before he starts his prison sentence.
