Rihanna is the latest in a long line of celebrities to launch a signature fragrance, following a deal that’s been months in the making.
As previously reported, the scent is called Reb’l Fleur.
“My grandmother in Barbados used to call me her Rebel Flower,” the singer tells People.com of what inspired the fragrance’s name.
As for the fragrance itself, Rihanna explains, “Over the years, I layered many different scents to get something that was truly my own. But I wanted…something that said ‘Rihanna was here.’ Something delicious and special, a fragrance with subtle hints that linger and leave a sexy memory.”
The end result recalls the star’s Caribbean upbringing with ripe fruits and sumptuous florals, as well as a musky mix of vanilla, patchouli and amber. Reb’l Fleur will blossom in department stores next month, priced at $49 for a 1.7 oz. bottle.
