I would confidently say that nine times out of ten, Facebook recognizes faces and can practically auto-tag people in your photos for you. This improvement is huge in the world of Facebook, especially with an average of 100 million hits daily. If people’s photos are auto-tagging faces, and those people being tagged get sent a notification that they’ve been tagged, that daily hit number could increase drastically. You can see how much easier it looks, even, just by viewing the small screen shot above. It’s as simple as that – no more typing in the same name over and over again, especially when you tag yourself. And for those of you who don’t like this new feature, a privacy setting will include the option to choose whether you want Facebook to suggest you when your friends are in the process of tagging photos. If you click “no,” then people can only tag you by manually inputting your name. Regardless of which privacy setting you choose, your name can only get tagged on photos uploaded by people on your friend list. Then of course, if you untag yourself, you can never be tagged in that photo again.
