An Australian hairdresser was recently fired from her job for writing some unflattering comments on her Facebook profile about the Employer she worked for. She sued for wrongful termination and the outcome of the case was that she won!! Sally-Anne Fitzgerald from Melbourne, Australia posted a status update on Facebook that read: ”Xmas ‘bonus’ along side a job warning, followed by no holiday pay!!! Whoooooo! The Hairdressing Industry rocks man!!! AWSOME!!!” An anonymous person then knarked on her to the salon owner! However, the salon owner also said she was fired for “stealing” hair product from the salon and rescheduling clients without permission. According to an employment tribunal, Fitzgerald should not have lost her job. Commissioner Michelle Bissett for Fair Work Australia said the termination of Fitzgerald’s employment was “harsh, unjust and unreasonable” and awarded her $2,340 in compensation. Good for her! What are your thoughts? Do you think the ruling was just or unjust?!
