Detroit native becomes MTV’s Twitter Jockey
As of Sunday night, MTV’s Twitter has a new face. Among twenty different competitor’s vying for a $100,000 Twitter Jockey job, 24-year-old, Detroit-born Gabi Gregg is the lucky winner! for the $100,000 job. Gabi won the prize during the live finale of MTV’s live televised finale of “Follow Me: The Search for the First MTV TJ.” In an online bio, Gregg, who will soon move to New York City for her new job, expresses her love for her hometown. “My heart will always remain in Detroit; I love it so much, I even have the signature old English ‘D’ tattooed on the back of my neck,” she says. Gabi Gregg has been on Twitter as @GabiFresh since early 2009. On Sunday night, she sent her first tweet from a new @MTVTJ account. Her Blog has become a well-known plus-size fashion site, once featured on Good Morning America. It’s not entirely clear what her job will entail. According to MTV.com, “The MTV TJ will begin work immediately, reporting for their first high-profile assignment at the 2010 MTV Video Music Awards on September 12.” Congratulations Gabi!
