Developers of Raleigh Michigan Studios are excited and ready for a big groundbreaking in Pontiac today. A former GM facility will house an $80 million studio with an additional brand new 200,000 square-foot building that will be a full-service studio, including “editing suites, animation suites 3-D suites, everything you could possibly need to make a movie is going to be right here,” says developer Linden Nelson. “This is exciting because we can possibly employ 3,000 people in the Detroit-Pontiac area, that’s what really makes it exciting,” says Alfred Taubman, also a developer of the project. The studio will also offer classes to teach people tricks of the movie trade. Once training is completed, students will be prepared to try and land a job in the same complex. Sweet!
