[lastfm]Erykah Badu [/lastfm]has been formally charged with disordely conduct for her new video “Window Seat.” In the video she walks around the Dealey Plaza in Dallas where JFK was shot. Many people were offended by her video saying that she “direspected” the late president with her actions. “My point was grossly misunderstood all over America,” Badu said. She denied intending any insult to the memory of John F. Kennedy. “J.F.K. is one of my heroes, one of the nation’s heroes. He was a revolutionary; he was not afraid to butt heads with America, and I was not afraid to show America my butt-naked truth.” If you watch the video and LISTEN to the lyrics, you will understand that she was out to make a point, not to offend. At the end of the video she says, “They play it safe, are quick to assasinate what they do not understand, they move in packs injesting more and more fear with every act of hate on one another, they feel most comfortable in groups, less guilt to swallow, they are us, this is what we’ve become, afraid to respect the individual, a single person with an inner circumstance can move one to change, to love herself, to evolve.” In addition to a possible $500 fine, she will also receive a citation from The Dallas Police Department. If she pays the fine, the issue will be resolved.
I give this girl credit. I mean, I have always wanted to walk around naked in public. The real problem is, is that no one wanted to see her naked, which I understand. Why is it that the people who do have the balls to get naked are the ones no one wants to see? That’s why Carmen Electra is so talented…….yea. talented.
