Wedding Russian Roulette

Was something lost in translation? The U.K.’s Daily Mail reports:

A bride and groom in Russia watched in horror as a guest shot himself in the head playing Russian Roulette. The prank-gone-wrong reportedly left the man with brain damage and paralysis.

Wedding film of the shooting has sparked horror after being posted on the web (it’s since been removed from You Tube). It shows a friend of the groom propose a toast to the happy couple, put a gun to his head and pull the trigger. After nothing happens, the friend says it was a “childish prank.”

But then he (the guy who proposed the toast and pulled the trigger says: “Here — who wants to do it?” A voice is heard saying: “Russian Roulette, yes?”

Another guest takes the gun, points it at himself in front of dozens of guests, and this time appears to shoot a bullet into his head.

The unnamed man’s condition was later described as “very poor” after doctors removed a bullet from his skull. He suffered brain damage and paralysis. The man who produced the hand gun at the wedding in the city of Astrakhan, in southwest Russia, was arrested. He said, “I wanted to perform my party trick. I expected lots of applause after I did it and never guess someone would repeat it.”

He insisted he had taken out all the bullets before doing his party ‘trick.’ The man is due to appear in court over the incident, police said.
